Posted by olisbWelcome to We Support Solar the campaign website that is working to ensure solar power is an important part of the UK renewable energy mix.
We have only just begun…

Charles Hendry MP (then Shadow Energy Minister) signing a solar PV slate in support of the 'We Support Solar' campaign at our July 2009 Parliamentary reception.
We Support Solar played an important role in making sure the payments you receive for generating solar electricity are strong enough to enable solar power to take off in the UK. The UK produces less renewable energy than almost any other country in Europe and we need to catch up. The solar power ‘Tariffs’ were introduced in April 2010, and both the LibDems and Conservatives have said they want to more than double the UK’s ambitions for the generation of local renewable power. Let’s hold them to that!
We Support Solar is asking the Coalition Government to Double the Ambition.

Construction industry workers haul giant coins across Westminster Bridge yesterday to highlight their call for an extra 10p to be added to the tariffs in the government
We Support Solar wants to keep supporters of solar in touch with take-up of PV in the UK. We want to tell you the good news as the UK finally starts to develop a domestic solar sector, which means training, jobs and business opportunities – as well as helping the environment and putting people in charge of their own energy. See our News section.
And we want to keep in touch because we may need your help too. Amazingly, despite the unprecedented need for renewable technology, there are vocal critics of solar power who do not want to see our energy system change. Unfortunately there are still influential individuals who refuse to accept the science of climate change, or who misrepresent the cost and purpose of the Feed-In Tariff system (See our Solar Facts section). The voices for the solar revolution still need to be heard - and we are heard loudest if we say it together.
