Government’s shock feed-in tariff announcement 7th February

We Support Solar urges you to ask your MP to write to the Secretary of State on you behalf and/or consider tabling a Parliamentary question asking him to rethink urgently his utterly baffling decision on solar Feed-in tariffs. Your MP can also sign John Hemming MPs new pro solar PV EDM 673.

On 7th February, the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change announced a shock immediate review of the solar PV feed-in tariffs introduced only last April.   There appears to be no justification for this shock move from the “greenest Government ever” just 10 months into the new scheme.   Ministers say they are worried about solar PV farms, what Chris Huhne referred to as “super size solar.”  But not a single solar farm has actually been built and the immediate review extends right down to 50 kW, the sort of small community scale project that I thought the Government wanted to encourage.   This is madness.
